Design, knowledge and expertise – the people that make SKK the leading shopfitters in the Midlands.

We’re very proud of our team at SKK Interiors. We’re a family-run business with over 30 years’ of experience. We know that it’s our team approach that brings the expertise to your shop fit-out. So, we thought it only right that we introduce you to the experts who guide your refurbishment project from planning to completion.

The details that make your pharmacy fit-out spectacular.

We do believe that every job is unique and brings its own challenges to the table. That may be down to the building itself, with unusual shapes to build around, conservation features to preserve, or access issues to navigate.

Or, it could be that you work in a specialist industry, which requires particular knowledge of regulations and compliance issues. SKK Interiors has a long and established reputation for specialising in pharmacy fit outs, both for independent high-street brands and within the NHS. Pharmacies have some unique requirements, from the materials that we use to the layout and design of consultation rooms and storage facilities. Understandably, there has been a significant focus on this area and the spread of infection in the workplace since COVID-19.

When it comes to specific regulatory requirements, the person you’ll need is Pete Fielding – Project Manager for SKK Interiors. So, we sat Pete down to find out a little more about him.

Pete Fielding – SKK Interiors.

Pete has been with SKK for 17 years and is a Black Card carrying Project Manager with SMSTS qualifications. That means that when it comes to Site Management and Safety, welfare and environmental issues on site, he’s the expert.

He doesn’t just oversee the Pharmacy side of the business. Pete is responsible for managing many of our SKK projects. We give him the best puzzles, most often solving the best way to manage the phasing of work to keep everything running smoothly, on time and in budget.

That may make him a little grumpy in the office, but not to worry; we let him have some time out to swing a golf club – which could be why Pete is the Curdworth Cup Winner for golf.

Pete is genuinely always happy to help clients and the team problem solve any issues. His favourite part of the job is getting out and about on-site, meeting different people and seeing how their businesses work.

People-centric design and shop fitting.

We may be experts in the building side, finding solutions to shopfitting dilemmas to maximise your space, but that’s not where our creativity ends. You may be refurbishing your office, creating a retail outlet or updating your home; whatever it is, we also love to be creative with design.

Your new fit out needs to work well for the people who use it – from the people sitting behind the desk to the customers walking through the door. We place people at the heart of our design ideas. That might mean we recommend adjusting the shopfloor to maximise customer flow through your retail space or discuss options to layout your new office floorplan to keep your workforce comfortable.

But at SKK, we like to go a step beyond planning for our clients, which is where our Managing Director, Sarah Kahn, steps in.

Sarah Kahn – Managing Director of SKK Interiors.

As Managing Director, Sarah naturally takes on responsibility for every aspect of the business, including overseeing projects and finances. Her expertise, however, lies in her passion for design and communication.

After many years of learning the family business from the inside out, Sarah oversees the practical and aesthetic aspects of every project. She is the liaison between the customer, suppliers and contractors, ensuring the customers’ ideas translate into the physical and visual design elements and identifying specific fabrics, materials or colour schemes that make our projects stand out.

Her people-centric approach isn’t just about creating welcoming spaces. SKK is a family business, and that feeling extends throughout the entire business, creating a friendly and happy workplace built on clear communication. And that family feeling continues outwards, developing strong and lasting relationships with other local businesses. SKK is a long-term sponsor of Free@Last, a charity committed to improving the lives of children in Nechells, and a supporter of Fetcher Dog Rescue Centre.

If there’s one piece of advice Sarah would give all new customers, it’s this. The first question you shouldn’t be “How much will it cost?” The first thing should be, “why should you trust SKK Interiors?” And, with a reputation built on over 30 years of quality work, fabulous service and finishing jobs on time and in budget, we will be happy to tell you.
